The brand came to life when two fashion obsessed friends, Gela Nash and Pamela Skaist-Levy, began to create their own fashion label but found it was just not “juicy” enough.

Slowly the styles went from maternity jeans to the velour tracksuits and playful bottoms that Juicy Couture is most known in 1997. Focusing on comfortable, athletic and casual wear, it was the velour tracksuit that shot the brand into the fashion world of fame after pop icon Madonna was seen wearing one.

In 2003, Liz Claiborne Inc. acquired the company promising to keep the same principles began by Nash and Skaist-Levy. At first the line was only sold in upscale locations, but the fashion soon burst out the doors into many other retailers. Once the velour tracksuit gained popularity again in 2004, Juicy Couture became a household name.

Juicy Couture embraces the bright and glamorous fun of its Los Angeles heritage by discovering the couture in the everyday. Famous for ascending the tracksuit to a level of casual luxury, the brand continues to evolve, bringing the same confident, whimsical and feminine attitude to everything it creates.
