Here at HerRoom, we talk a lot about cup size. If you’ve been following us for any amount of time, you’ve probably seen us mention some of our favorite DD+ or cup size brands. But what exactly do we mean by “DD+” you might ask? It’s actually pretty simple: DD+ refers to any bra size where the cup is a double D or larger, no matter the band size. If you are a 32F, a 42J, or anything in between, this means you. But once you know your size, things can start to get a little confusing. Did you know that most American bra manufacturers use a D, DD, DDD… sizing system, while many European manufacturers use the D, E, F, G… sizing system. So how do you know what’s the right size to buy? Enter the Universal Cup Sizing system. This handy chart will help you translate sizing between brands, and if you don’t see the brand you’re looking for, try entering your size into the UCS finder. Voila! No more size confusion.

We carry tons of great DD+ brands, but there are a few we think are really special. Not only do these brands offer amazing support and excellent fit, they quickly dispel the myth that bigger bras can’t be fun, sexy, or beautiful. We’ve picked out some of our favorites for the new season below.

Color Me Beautiful: The easiest way to elevate your lingerie game? A pop of color. Add a few brights to your collection for a quick pick-me-up even on gray November days. This Chantelle t-shirt bra in a beautiful iris hue is perfect, and so smooth and comfortable you’ll forget all about your old white t-shirt bra.

Get Laced Up: You might not think lace, usually delicate and soft, could be very supportive, but think again! This Prima Donna seamless lace bra is not only completely gorgeous, it has side seam boning for extra support. The lace in this particular bra is engineered to be extra firm at first, then soften and stretch as you wear it for a fit that’s custom to your body.

Anything But Basic: Of course, we know you have to have a few basics in your lingerie drawer, but that doesn’t mean they have to be boring. Simone Perele’s Andora collection features guipure lace and embroidery for a sophisticated touch. This soft blush color is also a not-so-basic basic hue for this brand as well, offering a feminine update to traditional nudes.

Sheer Perfection: Who says larger busts can’t wear sexy styles? Curvy Kate’s animal print balcony bra is flirty, sexy, and totally supportive—and did we mention it goes up to a D8? These sexy styles are equipped with vertical seams or extra side supports that not only lift you up, but give you a beautifully rounded shape.

Flower Power: Florals aren’t just for spring. This season we’re throwing a little garden party with our underpinnings, and this Panache balconnet is the perfect piece to start our look. Let the enchanting rose print play peek-a-boo under a fall blouse or dress for a subtly sultry look. The four-part cups offer amazing support and shape that doesn’t compromise style.
