February is a month that many people dread. Could it be the dreary weather in many parts of the country? Or could it be because one of the most stressful “holidays” is in February? Am I the only one who cringes at the sight of over-the-top heart themed gifts the day after Christmas?
Today I am going to share three ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day that are outside the norm. Not everyone wants a heart-shaped box of chocolates or a dozen roses. Not everyone even has someone special to share this day with! Maybe we don’t need anyone, maybe we can just treat ourselves!
First up evaluate how important this day is to you. Why are you putting so much pressure on yourself to perform? It’s just a day to show those who are important to you a little bit of extra attention, something we should probably do everyday.
If you exchange gifts with someone it would help to discuss expectations. I have been married for over 17 years but it doesn’t mean we exchange gifts every year.
There are a lot of ways to spread love that don’t involve spending money. One way could be to treat someone you care about with the tools to feel good about themselves.
From staying active with your special someone at the gym to adding a few finishing touches to an outfit before a night on the town, it’s time to think outside the box for Valentines Day.
