Confessions Of A Curvy Girl: Heavy Moms Get A Bad Rap

Moms get a bad rap. Even worse—heavy moms. You have heard the terms: mom jeans, mom haircut, mom weight. All of that is to imply that once you are married and have kids, you no longer care about what you look like.

I can see where people may get that impression. Once I had kids I did cut my hair off (to a length of 2 inches to be exact), I did gain about 100 pounds (yep) and I did start wearing mom jeans (the stretchy kind too).

This was not because I had given in to life and stopped caring, a lot of it had to do with not being able to find what I wanted to wear in my size. The key here is “what I wanted to wear.” There were plenty of options in my size if I enjoyed wild patterns and large draped fabrics. Envision a muumuu.

But I was simply chubby—not dead! I want comfy PJs and hot lingerie just like everyone else. I was just going to have to do my homework and find brands and retailers that cared about what I wanted to wear. Ones that catered to women of every size. Trust me they are out there.

So yes, I am on here every week sharing a little piece of myself one crazy story at a time, but I am also here to let you know you are one click away from what you are looking for. I love that you are reading this, but what I really want is for you to find a look and fit that makes you feel like your best you!
