I can almost feel it-the days are a little bit longer, the temperatures are slightly warmer and I feel that familiar pull to get outside. Believe it or not, I spend almost every minute outside when my family is home in the evenings.
Yes, this may come as a shock to you, but I love working in my yard. We live on several wooded acres, so needless to say there is always something that needs cut, raked or planted. It’s a quiet serene area and I absolutely love it. I enjoy sitting in the sun and reading, listening to music (quietly), picking weeds and sipping on a late afternoon glass of wine while I wait for the bus. That’s okay, right?
A few summers ago one of my neighbors let it slip that she thought my “yard work attire” was none too modest. Apparently, a woman of my “size” should not wear tank tops while working outdoors. But when the sun is out, there is eighty percent humidity and I am working, I feel like I am entitled to wear less.
Here is where the problem begins-I get a little lazy in the summer and wear one or two layered tanks with the built in shelf support almost every day. They are comfortable, and in my opinion, if I am not leaving the house and hardly anyone sees me then it is okay. Clearly my neighbor thinks ladies that have over a 34B bra size should avoid them. Well, this summer I have decided to retire my collection and end my love affair with the two-in-one tank. In my next post I will tell you how I came to this decision, so stay tuned!
