Confessions Of A Curvy Girl: To Wire Or Not To Wire, That Is The Question

Confessions Of A Curvy Girl
If I had to bet, I would say a man is the mastermind behind underwire bras. No woman who has ever owned, worn, and experienced an underwire bra would say, “What a great invention!” Strapping your breasts into a satin and elastic contraption, such as the bra, and wearing it for 12-15 hours a day is pure torture! If you wear the wrong size, that is.

I know many of us, including myself, are guilty of the “making it work” approach: adjusting the straps and/or band. This usually happens when we’re in a hurry or have the “I just don’t care” attitude. Well, I’m telling you now – with your breasts, that attitude doesn’t fly.

What exactly are you looking for in your bra? Lift? Smooth lines? Minimizing? These are very important questions. Not only is looking good important, but so is your comfort level.

Many women make the mistake of wearing a certain type of bra because they think they have to or more commonly, because it is what they’ve always worn. If that were the case, then I’d still be sporting what we would call, the “vintage” look! I’m talking “Madonna in Vogue” vintage.

My point is to have you start thinking why you buy the type you do. I have a few great every day bras, a smooth satin one for sheer to clingy outfits, a strapless, a convertible and a few great underwire: variety of bras for a variety of purposes.

As the weeks progress, I will divulge into the reasons why you may or may not want to wear underwire bras.  It is a personal choice and one that should be entirely based on your body composition and own personal style.
