For a #LifeUndressed, Try Nude.

What is it about the power of nude?

It’s sexy, versatile and the very definition of neutral – a shade that seems to work with everything while at the same time oozes total sex appeal. Wearing nude is as though you’re living a life undressed, yet with just the right amount of coverage, it can be chic, understated and appropriate in all contexts.

We traditionally think of nude in terms of lingerie, and for good reason. It’s the go-everywhere, wear-under-everything hue. We particularly love the versatility of a basic nude bra and believe that like lipsticks, you can never have too many. The Elomi Bijou Underwire T-Shirt Bra, for example, features contoured seamless cups that offer ideal support beneath even the sheerest of white t-shirts. The Wacoal Bodysuede Ultra Full Figure Bra is the perfect plunge shape for the sexiest of tops. And where would we be without the classic nude thong? Whether paired under white pants or a form-fitting dress, styles from the Calvin Klein Sleek Thong to Commando’s Low Rise silhouette offer minimal coverage and are panty-line free. A true lingerie essential in every woman’s wardrobe.

But the power of nude extends way beyond our innerwear. Who doesn’t love a pop of nude in the form of a luxe accessory? Mansur Gavriel’s Lady Bag in nude goes with everything in the modern woman’s closet, while a minimalist nude envelope clutch makes the perfect pairing with a little black dress or head-to-toe white. Christian Louboutin’s nude pump is a true must-have that can work with just about everything, while a chic nude ballet flat by Michael Kors will take you from school drop off to after work drinks.

Nude was also one of the hottest beauty trends on the spring and fall runways. We saw it in the form of a nude lip, which is truly the makeup gift that keeps on giving, season after season. It’s a great daytime look that can be converted into evening, and fits just about every skin type. We personally love Tom Ford’s take on nude with his lip color Sweet Mystery as well as Chanel Rouge’s Cocoa Shine. And with the “makeup free” trend taking place all over the blogosphere, a nude blush like Nars’ Gina or Bobbi Brown’s aptly named Nude is the ultimate non-makeup makeup for those mastering the all-natural look.

When in doubt, opt for nude anything and you can’t lose. It’s seductive, discreet and drama-free. It’s perfect for a life undressed.
